Kate specializes in healthcare and design research with experience working with several top healthcare systems worldwide. She has worked to develop solutions to the many complex challenges encountered in the healthcare environment to create a healing space for patients, care teams, and the community. Passionate about continually improving projects, processes and, outcomes, Kate has worked extensively with the HKS research team, developing post-occupancy evaluation methodologies focused on overall impact. Outside of work, she is active in the local and national design community, serving on a number of committees with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the U.S. Green Building Council. In 2016, Kate received the President’s Volunteer Service Award for her work on the 2015 USGBC Greenbuild Host Committee and the Greenbuild Legacy Project and is a member of the Building Design and Construction’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2016. Kate is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a Masters of Art and a Masters of Architecture.
